MY DESIGN THESIS  |   A r c h i t e c t u r e   E x p r e s s I n g   D i r e  c  t   I    o     n   |   a Museum of Art on Cedar Lake - Minneapolis, MN

It is important to understand how we are  d i r e c t e d  by our surroundings to create successful  p a t t e r n s  of  m o v e m e n t  and meaningful spaces.

Through the design of a Museum of Art, my thesis explored how architecture can express direction and influence our natural behavioral tendencies.

This typology was chosen because it provides ample opportunity to examine how attention can be influenced to a specific space or view, and how architectural form and space can imply direction of movement - especially through the circulation of its exhibit spaces.

Directional qualities were implied throughout the design - using architectural elements themselves and by the way these elements were placed to relate to each other and their surroundings
